Kathryn Muscarella and Josh Louke live in Texas now. But when it came time to marry, they came home — back to beautiful New Hampshire, back to the people who have known them the longest, to a July evening at Zorvino Vineyards that turned the whole sky gold right as the portraits began.
That’s the thing that stays with you about their wedding: it was a homecoming. Family filled the front rows and the dance floor, a “love that came before us” table held wedding photos of the couples who came first, and by the time the sun dropped low behind the vines, everyone who mattered was in one place at one time — which, when you live a couple of time zones away, is its own kind of miracle.
Golden Hour in the Vineyard
The light did the couple a favor. As the evening softened, Marina Z took Kathryn and Josh out through the property, and the sun hung just over the tree line — flaring through the leaves, catching the train of Kathryn’s gown as it spread across the lawn, throwing that warm amber glow only a late-July golden hour can give you.
They posed among the wine barrels with the gazebo on the hill behind them, out on the open lawn with the sun breaking around them, and up on the garden staircase beside the koi pond and its fountain, the smoke bush blooming dusty rose overhead. Kathryn carried a full, romantic bouquet of white roses and ranunculus with soft greenery.
The Ceremony at the Gazebo
The ceremony was held at the gazebo, guests seated close on the lawn in the early-evening light. Family friend Pastor Linda officiated — and there’s a particular ease to a ceremony led by someone who isn’t a stranger, someone who knows the families in the chairs.
Both sides were well represented, grandparents included, seated up front where they could see every word.
Cocktail Hour & the Grand Crû Package
A welcome glass of white sangria met guests as cocktail hour opened on Zorvino’s patio, and never better than on a warm July night with the vineyard glowing beside you.
Here’s where it’s worth talking about what Kathryn and Josh chose, because they went all the way to the top: the Grand Crû Wedding Package, the pinnacle of the Zorvino experience. The most immediate difference is the bar — Grand Crû builds a full open bar into the package for the whole reception, rather than starting at beer and wine and asking you to upgrade. Their signature drinks leaned festive and personal: a classic margarita and a blueberry Moscow mule, with a pomegranate spritz mocktail so every guest had something special in hand.
The food is where the tier really shows. Grand Crû lays out two lavish stationary displays — the Formaggi e Frutta with baked brie en croûte, and the full Tuscan Display — and moves up to five passed hors d’oeuvres, from honey-ricotta crostini to curry-tempura cauliflower, arancini, coconut chicken, and beef skewers. It carries a champagne toast, a salad, a full plated dinner, a custom cake, and an included late-night snack — and this couple added an espresso and specialty drink cart on top for the back half of the night. It is the package you choose when you want the evening to feel abundant from the first pour to the last latte.
The Details: Gold, Hunter Green & Candlelight
The tablescape was warm and classic. Britton Design handled the florals, from the centerpieces to Kathryn’s bouquet and the bridesmaids’.
The couple filled the space with pieces that told their story: a “love that came before us” display of family wedding photos, a wooden-letter guest book, disposable cameras and a QR code on each table so guests could add their own view of the night, and gold foil coasters that read Please Don’t Take My Drink, I’m Dancing — proof this was a crowd that intended to use the floor.
Dinner
Dinner opened with a tossed garden salad in Zinfandel vinaigrette, then moved to the entrées: chicken piccata in a lemon, wine, and caper sauce, or slow-roasted prime rib with au jus — the choice of the bride and groom both — with butternut squash ravioli for the vegetarian guests and a quinoa-and-chickpea stuffed pepper for the vegan table. Everything came with homemade focaccia, seasonal vegetables, and chef’s starch.
Late in the evening, a flatbread pizza station rolled out — BBQ chicken, meat lovers, margherita, and vegetarian — the perfect thing to hand a dance floor that had been going strong.
What a Grand Celebration!
The Cake
Chickadee Hill Cakes made the wedding cake — vanilla with a mocha cream filling and vanilla buttercream — served to guests with a coffee and tea buffet alongside. The couple kept their cake cutting warm and familial, with special dances right after.
The Reception
Matt of Main Event Entertainment ran the night. After introductions and a first dance came three heartfelt toasts, and from there the floor filled and stayed full, an espresso cart appearing later for anyone who needed a second wind. Marina Z and videographer Lin captured all of it — the toasts, the dancing, the last of the golden light coming through the skylights.
