Zorvino Vineyards is looking for an experienced banquet manager to oversee front and back of the house operations for our award-winning venue. The BM works closely with the Executive Chef and Event Managers to ensure top notch service is provided for every event. Candidate must be available to work weekdays, nights, weekends, and some holidays.
This fast-paced, hands-on position is a great opportunity to join a growing family business. Our ideal candidate has experience in hospitality as well as execution of events up to 200 guests. Wedding experience preferred. This is not an entry level position; however, we are ready to train the right candidate with appropriate experience.
Job duties and responsibilities include but not limited to:
- Interview, select, schedule, train and evaluate the performance of the Banquet team
- Coordinating details of each event and verifying BEOs
- Attending weekly BEO meetings
- Manages departmental inventories
- Coordinate with the Maintenance to address any repairs or schedule maintenance of equipment
- Oversee the set-up of each event according to the floorplan
- Determining the number of servers/bartenders required for event service
- Organizing all scheduling, hiring, and firing of servers/bartenders
- Make sure banquets team is up to date with any state liquor requirements/policies
- Supervising the placement of tables, chairs, tables settings, and serving stations to make sure they are placed properly and according to floor plans
- Oversee serving of meals and beverages, and the efficient clearing of tables
- Answering customer and guest questions and accommodate special requests when necessary
Desired skills:
- Experience with Tripleseat and All Seated a bonus but not required
- Fluent in computer and software knowledge including POS, Word, Excel, Outlook, Adobe (experience with Clover, Homebase, Eventbrite, RESY, Canva is helpful)
- Ability to manage and work under high pressure
- Capacity to multitask the oversight of staff and operations related to banquets
- Strong management skills including time management, information analysis, planning and organizing, decision making, problem solving, and delivery of results
- Understanding of financial management skills including inventory, budget management, expense control
- Strong people management skills, including coaching, motivating, training, delegating, scheduling and relationship building
Job Requirements:
- Bachelor’s Degree in Hospitality or Culinary Arts, preferred
- 3-5 years banquet-related experience and/or training in food and beverage management
- Ability to plan banquets, manage budgets, and meet deadlines
- In-depth knowledge of best practices in the hospitality industry
- Interpersonal and communication skills
